Smell the woodwork of the Master Carpenter

I love a newly crafted piece of woodwork, be it a timber floor, a piece of furniture, a hand crafted timber box, or a stair rail. There is nothing better than a finely crafted polished stair rail. Run your fingers over it as you either ascend or descend a set of stairs – the longer the better, and especially if they are curved.

I love the touch & aroma of the wood, its smoothness, grain, texture and colour. Jarrah, Tasmanian Oak, & Blackbutt are the timbers I like the best.

Did you realize that Jesus was likely a carpenter or builder who helped support his family, becoming a craftsman by following the profession of his earthly father, Joseph ?

He quietly worked alongside Joseph, and probably created some marvelous works of art using timber and stone. He may have created useful & necessary things for the home. After all, He created the timber and the stone in the first place. He knew all about it and how to best use it for the benefit of man. Do not His names include ‘the stone of Israel’, ‘the rock of Israel’ and ‘the rock our salvation’. He is our sure foundation upon which we can build our lives. He is our exemplar. He is the master builder of people. Follow Him.

In fact He was the creator of this magnificent world, made just for us. Beauty, splendour, and serenity are all around us, a silent witness of how much He loves each of us.

The solar system including this earth rotating perfectly around the sun in obedience to natural laws of physics and mathematics, denote His existence. Only a God could do that.
