Take notice of King James

Will the real King James please stand up? You have been left on the bench for far too long. Defend the faith as you once did. Join with your team mates Isaiah,Tyndale, Wycliffe, Nephi, Mormon and Moroni in declaring truth to the inhabitants of the earth. Show them the way to live, as did once long ago, the Savior, the King of Israel, the great Redeemer, even Jesus Christ overcame death and provided the way for immortality and eternal life for all mankind. When your eyes were opened, you employed many scholars to produce the King James authorized translation of the Bible in 1611, and your team mates provided the Book of Mormon.

These records contain the moral laws of how one should live. Today they provide the basis of many of the laws in free countries. As a general population we have flouted these laws because we think we know better than God.

Not all people willingly violate God’s laws, but we all fall short. I too once strayed. Now I do my best to be obedient and have found peace in Christ. You also may find this peace.

Below are the laws, along with some suggested violations on how we have drifted.

1. Thou shalt have no other God’s before me

  • Have we put houses, lands, possessions, cars, boats, gold, money, stocks, and bonds before God?

2. No Graven Images

  • Idol worship of pop stars and sportsmen. Halls of Fame. Oscars. Naming rights. Tattoos.

3. Do not take the name of God in vain

  • Jesus Christ, or a derivative  thereof, is usually the most oft used swear word.

4. Keep the Sabbath Day Holy

  • Hold sporting events on the Sabbath, open the shops, work, shop on the Sabbath Day.
  • Anything but Worship God on His designated day of rest for all mankind.

5. Honour thy father & mother

  • Put them in a nursing home, rather than take care of them in their old age.
  • Never visit. Sell their house & take their money.

6. Thou shalt not kill

  • Murder, shoot school children, or other innocent people. Euthanasia. Abortion
  • Procure weapons, instigate wars, kill people. Suicide bombs.
  • Sell drugs and narcotics to addict people and eventually kill them.

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery

  • Sex before marriage or after with anyone else, even those of the same sex.
  • Make it legal by removing it from statute laws, and changing marriage laws.
  • Pornography. Rape. Incest.

8. Thou shalt not steal

  • Governments over-tax the people. Governments spend without restraint.
  • Politicians grant themselves ridiculous salaries & benefits. Waste resources.
  • Identity theft. Property Theft. Not paying your debts.

9. Thou shalt not bear false witness

  • Tell lies, even publish them in the press. Omit facts. Use unconfirmed sources.

10.Thou shalt not covet

  • Seek after someone else’s property, or someone else’s husband or wife.
  • Keeping up with the “Jones’s”

In the Book of Mormon – another testament of Jesus Christ King Benjamin taught all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said Mosiah 2:22

Will you be prepared toJust do it “? There will be a day of judgement for everyone. The choice is always yours – to follow or not to follow. It is never too late to keep His commandments.

As Dallin H Oaks taught “the final judgement is not just an evaluation of a sum total of good and evil acts – what we have done. It is an acknowledgement of the final effect of our acts and thoughts – what we have become.” – Dallin H Oaks – The challenge to become – General Conference – October 2000
