In the language of young people today everything is totally it’s like. Like what? Wait – what do you mean?
I mean hope for the lonely, the confused, and those searching for answers to make sense in a world of conflicting voices. The book of Mormon provides the hope, the answers and a pattern for living that leads to happiness through faith in Jesus Christ. The book of Mormon is evidence that there are modern prophets on the earth today.
Teachings from the book of Mormon include:
All mankind will be resurrected because of the fall of Adam and the gift of the atonement of Jesus Christ
- The atonement … was prepared from the foundation of the world for all mankind, which ever were since the fall of Adam, … or who ever shall be (Mosiah 4:6-7)
- He (Jesus Christ) suffereth the pains of all …, both men, women, and children. … And he suffereth this that the resurrection might pass upon all men (2 Ne. 9:21–22)
Little children who die in infancy are heirs of eternal life.
- the blood of Christ atoneth for [little children] (Mosiah 3:16)
- little children need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission of sins ( Moroni 8:11)
You can receive answers to sincere prayer (Moroni 10:3-4)
Men can be forgiven for sin on conditions of repentance (Moroni 6:8)
Prophets testify of Jesus Christ, teach us truth, and encourage us to keep the commandments of God (Jacob 7:11) and (1 Nephi 3:19-21)
President Russell M Nelson a modern prophet of God today recently taught:
“The book of Mormon is a gift from God to the entire world! It was written by by ancient prophets for us who live in these latter days. It is the only book that the Lord himself has testified to be true.
The book of Mormon teaches us about the remarkable promises God made long ago that can bless each of us in our day and continue to bless us throughout all time. Yes, these promises are available to you!
The more I study the book of Mormon, the more I marvel at the miracle it is – how it was translated by the gift and power of God. Its central message is that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. It has converting power. Its truths draw every earnest seeker closer to God and fill each with a desire to know more about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.”
